Acknowledgements
Bath Rambling Club would like to thank these artists for their permission to use the following works on this website:
Where? - Lesley Shortt
Lesley Shortt illustrates people, animals, objects and activities from observation or imagination, and is often motivated by the meanings of words and phrases. Her pictures can have a narrative or be purely decorative devices. www.lesleyshortt.com
Lighthouse and Lepe Tree – Arran Miles
Arran graduated from St Martins and is a specialist in the life figure, in which she runs workshops and courses. Much of her recent work has focussed on experimentation with different print techniques, of which the print shown, one of a series featuring lighthouses - only faintly in this instance - is a dramatic example. She generously gave us a choice from several contrasting examples of her fine portfolio of work. www.arranmiles.com
Sunrise – Nick Cudworth
Nick has exhibited throughout the world and opened his own gallery in London Street, Bath in 1999. His ‘Bath Night giclee prints’, of which Sunrise is one, are only available from the Victoria Art Gallery in Bath. He works in oil and pastel and is known for his landscapes, still life and portraiture. www.nickcudworth.co.uk
Winter Sunset, Trusloe, Avebury 2018 – Pascale Stacey
Photographer: Gordon Burns Skylight Printing
Pascale is an Anglo-French artist who works from her studio in Avebury in Wiltshire. She originally studied art in Brittany and the advantage of having a relatively limited output is that her every piece is an individually thought-out unique proposition and her work covers a remarkably wide range of styles. Signed prints of her work are available as well as painting in acrylic, oil and mixed media. pascalestaceyscreens
Alton Barnes, Deborah Husk
Deborah is an established professional photographer whose recent work includes jewellery, food, fashion, leisure, lifestyle and interiors. In addition to her Commercial work she also creates Fine Art images which include large scale photos of everyday objects from flowers to vegetables; from keys to hip flasks. Her studio is close to the Wiltshire Downs which is the subject of the image shown: nature is inevitably a constant theme in her work. www.deborahhusk.co.uk
Savernake Tree – June-Louise Pillinger HS
June is a miniaturist and botanical artist and a long –term member of the Hilliard Society. Her work appears in many collections in the UK and overseas and she often exhibits with her husband, Ian. ianpillinger@talktalk.net
The Canal Avoncliff - W. T. Cooper
An amateur artist living in Westwood, the scene shown in his oil painting will be familiar to many walkers in Bath and Wiltshire.
Fields (?)
The artist of this small landscape is unknown; probably French and a member of the Concarneau School and familiar with the later work of Van Gogh.
Jane Fox
With no formal training, Jane has taken every opportunity to learn by observing other artists, experimenting with different genre and media, and is now starting to develop her own style.
In recent years she has been concentrating on printmaking in its many forms. Using print as an end product but also applying it to mixed media work.
She is a member of and exhibits with the ‘Guild of Wiltshire Artists’ and ‘Marlborough Artists’ Society and opens her studio for the annual Marlborough Open Studios Art Trail. She also exhibits in the John Bowen Gallery in Malmesbury and has had a solo exhibition in the White Horse Gallery in Marlborough.
We would also like to thank Marlborough Open Studios for organising their programme over the first four weekends of July every year across the beautiful countryside of the North Wessex Downs, where our members often walk, and several of whose artists are featured on our new website. marlboroughopenstudios.co.uk
